Hello Everyone! Today, I am grateful to be partaking in the Hero Arts 2017 Summer Catalog Blog Hop with so many kind, talented and amazing people. Thank you, Jennifer McGuire, for the invite. Of course, I said….YES!!!!!
The theme I selected to showcase is kindness. My heart is so happy I get to share with all of you something that is dear to me and that is creating cards in hopes to make someone smile.
For this group of cards I started out by dry embossing a white cardstock panel using the Hero Arts Nesting Hearts Infinity Dies. The dies held nicely together with a couple pieces of surgical tape. The embossing provides beautiful texture, but I wanted to add a little bit of color too. This was easily accomplished by using rainbow colors for card bases and a colored die-cut heart. Sparkle was added to the hearts using a glitter brush pen. Hero Arts You Are Loved Messages, is jam packed with sentiments fitting for everyone. I selected several messages from this set and stamped in black ink directly on the white dry embossed panel. Due to the texture it was helpful to use the MISTI and double stamp.
Coordinating envelopes to add some additional cheer. White embossing on the back of the envelope adds such a fun element. I just love that heart. Oh and the hug.
Most of the time, I make several of the same card. I like to mix it up with different colors and sentiments to make them a little unique. For this bunch, there are three cards per design. Now these cards are ready to be placed in envelopes and given to people in the community. For more information, please visit both of these links (here and here) from Jennifer McGuire, where she discusses the new kindness products, kind campaign and #sharehandmadekindness continuous challenge.
For my next card I used the Hero Arts Love is Love Bold Prints background stamp and created a tone on tone look. I heat embossed with clear embossing powder. Stick with me for awhile and you will not only hear me encouraging kindness, but you will also see me using the word “together” a lot!! I love these two people holding hands and showcased them on a couple of layered hearts. Then I added some Nuvo crystal drops. The sentiment on the inside says, “We’re better TOGETHER”.
Last one for today is a cute 4-1/4″ x 2-7/8″ card. The Hero Arts Kindness is Everything wood block stamp is a beauty. The font is fun and the surrounding flourishes add such a special touch. I heat embossed in clear and then ink blended the background using Hero Arts inks: mint julep, cornflower and passion flower. To complete the card I popped up the panel using craft foam and added some Nuvo jewel drops to the flourishes.
